São Sebastião ended the first edition of XTERRA Brasil in the city with a result that goes beyond sporting success and projects new developments for the economy and tourism. The organization's official report points out that the stage held between the 19th and 21st of June achieved 98% approval from athletes, the highest rate recorded by the circuit, and led the organizers to classify São Sebastião as the best rated scenario and environment among all the stages already promoted by XTERRA. The performance consolidated the city as a national reference for nature sports competitions and strengthened the expectation that the event will return to the municipality in 2027. The recognition is supported by indicators that demonstrate the reach of the competition far beyond the sports arena. For three days, more than 3 thousand athletes, technical teams, companions and spectators passed through the city, moving the tourism production chain and increasing demand for accommodation, food, transport, commerce and services. The operation also generated direct job opportunities, with the hiring of more than 200 local professionals, in addition to the distribution of R$20,000 in prizes, reinforcing the economic impact produced by large-scale events. The data also reveals one of the most relevant indicators for the municipality's tourism development strategy. According to the survey, more than 80% of the competitors came from other cities and states, mainly from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, confirming São Sebastião's ability to attract visitors motivated by sports tourism. The public profile, predominantly between 27 and 35 years old and associated with high purchasing power, increases consumption potential and contributes to distributing economic activity beyond the traditional high season periods, strengthening a development model based on the diversification of the events calendar. The repercussion also reached a national dimension in the digital environment. XTERRA recorded more than 3 million interactions on social media, driven by athletes, influencers and specialized content producers, promoting São Sebastião spontaneously to millions of people. At the same time, the organization developed environmental management actions for waste produced during the event, integrating sustainability practices into a competition held in one of the most important natural heritage sites on the Brazilian coast. For the organization of XTERRA Brasil, the combination of infrastructure, logistics, hospitality, operational security and the integration between the Atlantic Forest, beaches and mountains transformed São Sebastião into the best-rated stage of the circuit. The recognition led those responsible for the event to express their interest in keeping the municipality on the national calendar and expanding the program in 2027, with the inclusion of new activities aimed at children, consolidating a partnership built on measurable results and high participant satisfaction.
