The girl's mother filed a police report two days later, on Tuesday (7), shortly after discovering the attack from a video on social media. The following day, Wednesday (8), the man appeared at the police station spontaneously, gave a statement and was released due to the absence of being caught, which only occurs when the crime is being committed or shortly after the aggression has been committed. According to delegate Ricardo Moraes, the suspect's five-year-old stepson was also a victim of violence on an occasion prior to the video. The boy had marks on his face and the suspicion is that he was attacked with a belt or a piece of wood. From this, the Civil Police represented the man's preventive arrest and the request was accepted by the Court, which ordered the arrest warrant on Thursday (9). He is in Francisco Beltrão jail, with no deadline for his release. The father, who underwent a custody hearing, is being represented by the Public Defender's Office. According to the corporation, preventive detention aims to protect victims and also allow witnesses to report other episodes of violence without fear of the aggressor. The father's family members have not yet been heard because they live in Santa Catarina and were not in close contact with him, but they may be called to give a statement.
