The action took place this Sunday (19), following an anonymous complaint made to the Linha Verde program, on Disque Denúncia. At the scene, the police found three artisanal ovens in operation, used for the irregular production of charcoal. In total, 158 bags of coal were seized, equivalent to around eight tons. According to the Environmental Police, the charcoal factory occupied an area of ??approximately one thousand square meters. During the inspection, no one responsible for the activity was found. ? The incident was registered at the 146th Guarus Police Station. The case will be investigated based on article 60 of the Environmental Crimes Law, which deals with the operation of potentially polluting activities without due authorization from the competent bodies. According to the Linha Verde program, since the beginning of this year, 187 reports of environmental crimes have been registered in Campos dos Goytacazes.
