Mais Júri Program in MT has already held 66 sessions and foresees more than 60 trials by the end of the year

The sessions are scheduled for the 15th and 30th, at 9am. The first trial will consider the case involving Alex Roberto Queiroz, accused of the death of lawyer Renato Nery. On the 30th, Claudiomar Garcia de Carvalho will be brought to the jury, in an open process in the District of Chapada dos Guimarães, which investigates the murder of Leandro Rodrigues Boamorte and the attempted murder against Jordam Kesler de Barros Silva.

Established by the General Inspectorate of Justice, the Mais Júri Program brings together cooperating magistrates to expand the holding of Jury Court sessions in districts with greater demand, seeking to reduce the processing time for cases of intentional crimes against life, reduce the procedural archive and contribute to meeting the goals of the National Council of Justice.

"The Mais Júri Program is a management strategy aimed at making judicial provision more effective. By expanding the capacity to hold Jury Court sessions, we were able to reduce the procedural archive and offer a faster response to society, always preserving the quality of judicial activity", highlights the Inspector General of Justice, Judge José Luiz Leite Lindote.

"The cooperative work allows us to temporarily reinforce the districts that have a greater demand for Jury Court trials. With planning and integration between the units, we are able to expand the trial capacity and move forward with cases that have been waiting for years for a definitive solution", says the assistant judge of the Internal Affairs Department and coordinator of the program, Jorge Alexandre Martins Ferreira.

In addition to the two sessions conducted by cooperating judge Marcos Faleiros da Silva, the July agenda of the 1st Criminal Court of Cuiabá foresees another 10 trials, totaling 12 sessions of the Jury Court throughout the month of July, the trials involve cases of qualified homicide, attempted homicide and attempted femicide.

Mais Júri – Since the start of the task force this year, the Mais Júri Program has already recorded 66 Jury Court sessions held in 10 districts of Mato Grosso. The work this year has already been completed in Barra do Bugres (10 trials), Marcelândia (5), Nova Ubiratã (4), Paranatinga (18) and Sorriso (4).

The task force remains ongoing in the districts of Vila Rica, with 10 trials carried out and another 15 designated; Alta Floresta, with 5 completed and 20 designated; Cuiabá, with one trial concluded and two sessions of the Mais Júri Program scheduled for July; Juína, with 5 realized and 15 designated; and Nova Monte Verde, with 4 completed and 10 designated.

In total, these districts still have more than 60 designated sessions, which will be held throughout the year.
