According to reports from family and friends, Érika suffered burns when she approached a bonfire during the celebration. Since then, she remained hospitalized in serious condition, but did not survive the complications.
The death was confirmed by Record Brasília, where the journalist had worked since 2019. In a statement, the broadcaster highlighted the professional legacy left by Érika and recalled her work covering politics, economics, culture and entertainment.
"Érika has built a career marked by professionalism, sensitivity and commitment to information", stated the company.
Naturally focused on journalism since the beginning of her career, Érika graduated from the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) and had a master's degree in Language Interpretation and Translation from the University of Westminster, in London. Fluent in English, he has accumulated experience in different areas of communication, such as television, radio, newspapers, magazines, the internet and press relations.
In addition to his work at Record, he also presented the program Interesse Público, shown on TV Justiça in partnership with the Federal Public Ministry.
The journalist leaves two daughters, Jaqueline, 19, and Jéssica, 17. Professional colleagues, friends and family paid tribute on social media, remembering her dedication to journalism and the welcoming way in which she conducted her work and daily life.
