Moto mode begins to be released this Monday (13) in Brazil. With the update, riders simply need to select that they ride a motorcycle to receive appropriate routes. This includes the possibility of accessing narrower streets, for example.
In practice, routes are customized for motorcycles in this mode. During the journeys, there will be alerts for potholes, speed bumps, raised pedestrian crossings, the end of shoulders and narrow bridges.
"Arriving quickly is one thing and arriving safely is another. Features for motorcyclists are here to improve drivers' experience, such as knowing in advance when to slow down when approaching a speed bump," said Gail Berovich, vice president and general manager of Waze Global, in conversation with journalists.
Apart from Brazil, Moto mode arrives in some other markets. The functionality will also be released in Argentina, Colombia, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru and the Philippines.
MORE CUSTOMIZATIONS FOR WAZE
Waze will gain new preference settings:
Personalization: app will suggest routes based on what it learns about the driver. If you prefer to drive on highways, the app will prioritize this type of road. If you don't want to, you can disable this function in the application settings.
Less talkative: it will be possible to request that the navigation be more or less detailed. The application will have the option for voice instructions: normal, less talkative, alerts only or disabled.
Voice incident reporting: With Gemini technology, drivers will be able to report traffic incidents just by speaking. Currently, you have to interact with the app and choose a corresponding icon. With the update, which starts to arrive this Monday (13), it will be possible to say, for example: "The number of this location has changed" or "there is a hole in the track".
Destination search: before starting the journey, users will be able to search for "find a parking lot near my destination" or "find a gas station with lower prices".
