SÃO PAULO, SP (UOL/FOLHAPRESS) - A petition created by an Argentine fan brought together more than 67 thousand people calling for the annulment of the World Cup final, won by Spain 1-0 against Argentina.

Created by Gisela Sánchez, the petition criticizes Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic and his performance in last Sunday's decision (19), in New Jersey.

In the text of the petition, Gisela asks for a review of the game and claims that the arbitration influenced the final result. The fan claims there is video evidence that Vincic had been bought, but without presenting it.

"It is a monumental disappointment for the players, coaches and, above all, for the fans who yearn to see a match decided by talent and dedication on the field, rather than by manipulated refereeing decisions," he says.

The petition was covered in the Spanish press. Mundo Deportivo, for example, highlighted that petitions like this are not valid. "The repetition of a match could only occur in exceptional circumstances provided for in sporting regulations or upon decision by the competent bodies", writes the diary.
