Republicans tell Flávio Bolsonaro that the party does not want an alliance and will remain neutral in the election

Earlier, in a meeting with Flávio, Pereira had already carried out an internal party survey indicating that 17 of its 27 regional directorates defend neutrality in this year's presidential election. The intention is to free states to support any candidate for president.

At the meeting, which was also attended by the president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, the senator once again asked for the support of the Republicans and once again offered a vice-president position on his ticket.

The party's formal announcement will be made this Tuesday (4), when the party holds its national convention.

Flávio would like to have Daniella Marques (Republicanos), a former assistant to Paulo Guedes at the Ministry of Finance, on his ticket, but her name faces resistance within the Republicans.

Three days before the deadline set by Flávio's campaign for the nomination of the vice-president, the PL still made an effort to win the support of parties in the center to avoid an internal solution, such as the nomination of Fortaleza councilor Priscila Costa (PL) for the vacancy, but was unsuccessful.

Last week, the PP, the party of senator and former minister of the Civil House Ciro Nogueira (PI), ruled out support for Flávio and blocked the nomination of senator Tereza Cristina (PP-MS) for vice. Tereza spoke personally with the senator and said that she would agree to be on the ticket, if the party approved it.

Podemos is also expected to announce this Wednesday (4) that it will not support Flávio. Last week, the party's president, federal deputy Renata Abreu (SP), received the suggestion from the mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), to be a candidate for the senator's vice-president. Even so, the majority position of the party remains unchanged, with most states defending neutrality.

During this Monday's conversation, the presidents of the PL and the Republicans also discussed the Minas Gerais platform. Without senator Cleitinho (Republicans) in the dispute, the Republicans must support former federal deputy Marcelo Aro (PP).

The PL command also took this possibility to the party directory in Minas, but has not yet dropped the hammer on support for Aro. Party members say that different options remain on the table, such as the candidacy of Flávio Roscoe (PL) or Vittorio Medioli (PL). The party is also talking to the Republicans about the possibility of launching former mayor Luís Eduardo Falcão (Republicanos), previously considered to be Cleitinho's vice-president.
