Hospital owners die in plane crash in Tocantins

A couple died and the pilot was seriously injured after the crash of a small plane on the morning of this Saturday, 18th, in the region of the City Fly Aerodrome, in Palmas, Tocantins. The aircraft had just taken off and was heading to Redenção, in the south of Pará.

According to the Tocantins Military Fire Department, the accident was recorded around 10 am. The victims were identified as doctor Ederson da Silva, aged 68, and his wife, Roseli Amarilda, aged 62. Both died at the scene. The couple owned Hospital São Lucas, located in the city center.

The victims lived in Redenção, Pará, where the aircraft was heading.

The pilot, Hamilton Lopes, 79 years old, was rescued alive and taken to Palmas General Hospital (HGP), where he remains hospitalized in critical condition.

After dealing with the incident, the area was left under the responsibility of the competent bodies to carry out the investigation. The causes of the aircraft crash are still being investigated.
