Doing this in a place considered the most "haunted" in France makes the adventure even more curious. This was the challenge faced by reporters Murilo Salviano and Ross Salinas, who stayed at Fugiré Castle, in the west of the country, to discover where the place's fame comes from. The experience began even before arrival. On the way, upon hearing the destination, the taxi driver expressed discomfort and said that he preferred to leave the passengers outside the castle. According to him, the property is known in the region for stories of apparitions and paranormal phenomena, and a friend had experienced strange situations there. Reporter lives experience Reproduction/TV Globo Each reporter slept in a room surrounded by stories Upon arriving at the castle, the reporters were received by the owners, Véronique and François, who claim to live with the so-called "Invisibles", the name given by them to the supposed entities that would inhabit the property. Véronique personally chose the rooms where the team would spend the night. Murilo stayed in the room that, according to her, belonged to Félix, a man who died in the castle. "There's a small room, a table, a very comfortable bed. And that's Félix, who died in here", comments the reporter upon seeing the room. Cameraman Ross Salinas slept in the so-called "Knight's room", identified by the owners as one of the favorites of paranormal investigators to capture voices and whispers. At one point, Murilo decided to play a trick on his colleague. "I'm going to try to find Ross and scare him." The joke served to alleviate the tense atmosphere. "That laughter is just to break the tension, because the atmosphere in here is really different. Maybe because of the exotic decor. Maybe because of the feeling of being in a giant maze without knowing the way out." Before going to sleep, Murilo still plays with one of the only "dangers" found during the night. "I don't know if it's haunted or not. What's bothering me most is this spider. "During the night we saw and heard absolutely nothing." During the night spent at the site by reporters, no phenomena were recorded. For Véronique, however, this does not diminish the meaning of the experience. She claims to believe that there is a reality invisible to the eye and says that the castle should not be treated as a horror attraction. "This is not a circus. You need to listen with empathy and respect", he says. Whether there are ghosts or not, one thing is certain: it is these stories that keep alive, to this day, a castle built to survive wars and which ended up finding a new role centuries later.
