She says she always dreamed of living in a castle, but says that, shortly after moving, she realized that she didn't just share the space with her family. According to Véronique, a male presence seemed to constantly accompany her. François says that, while working in the garden, he felt someone touch his shoulders, but there was no one around. As time passed, the couple said they witnessed objects moving on their own, beds vibrating, chandeliers crossing rooms and voices with no apparent origin. For Véronique, many of these spirits were former residents of the castle. She says the family even put the property up for sale, but its haunted reputation kept buyers away. Today, instead of hiding their fame, they live with it and believe that the phenomenon is part of the place's history. One of the rooms is associated with Félix, a former resident who died there in the 19th century. Another belonged to Alice, a young woman who was married at the castle in July 1924 and died a few days later from an infection. During the visit, it is also possible to visit the room where, according to historical accounts presented by the owners, a court official was murdered with an ax in the 18th century. Hidden behind a narrow staircase, a small clandestine chapel recalls another dramatic period in French history: the French Revolution, when practicing religion could lead to execution. For more than ten years, paranormal investigators have rented rooms to make recordings and try to capture voices or sounds considered inexplicable. Ordinary tourists also arrive, many of them carrying suitcases to spend the weekend at the property. According to the family, the activity helps pay for the maintenance of the castle. Among the visitors there are those who say they have seen shadows, heard noises or even managed to communicate with dead relatives. You need to listen with empathy and respect", he says.
