The Federal Revenue launched an application to speed up the disembarkation of travelers who need to declare goods when entering Brazil. With the Electronic Declaration of Travelers' Goods (e-DBV) system, part of the declarations will be automatically registered by the system as soon as the passenger lands in the country, based on the IRS's risk management criteria. In these cases, the traveler can proceed directly to disembarkation, without having to go through in-person customs assistance. The change applies to passengers arriving in the country by plane and using the app before entering the country. MORE After submission, the system analyzes the information and decides whether the declaration can be registered automatically or whether it will be necessary to undergo inspection. Declarations that are not eligible for automatic registration will continue to be subject to customs control procedures provided for by legislation. The new system went into operation on Sunday afternoon (27) for air transport passengers. The IRS states that the change does not alter the agency's supervisory power, which remains responsible for reviewing declarations, charging taxes when necessary and adopting the measures provided for in the legislation.
