The PSD pre-candidate for the presidency of the Republic, Ronaldo Caiado, criticized his opponent Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) at his party's convention held on Saturday, 25th, with the participation of the president of Argentina, Javier Milei. Speaking this Wednesday, 29, in Brasília, Caiado said that the convention had descended to a "low level".

"It was a convention in which the candidate lost with Argentina and lost with an avatar. So, the candidate was not present there. There was no proposal. And what's worse: it descends to such a low level of aggression that, suddenly, instead of discussing national issues, we are discussing problems of aggression against the United States, with Argentina", he declared.

Caiado also stated that "those who govern do not inherit leadership", when referring to the video using artificial intelligence (AI) with the image of former president Jair Bolsonaro. Candidate for Caiado's vice president, the president of the PSD, Gilberto Kassab, said he was surprised by the convention and declared that the event fell short of the objectives expected by Brazilian society.

"I saw the convention with great amazement," said Kassab. "The former president's artificial intelligence (AI) presentation does not help, because we want to know what candidate Flávio thinks, not his father, through artificial intelligence."

Caiado and Kassab spoke to the press after a meeting with the Brazilian Association of Radio and Television Broadcasters (Abert) and the National Association of Newspapers (ANJ), where they received a document with the entities' agendas.

Asked by the press whether he will regulate big tech and artificial intelligence, Caiado said that Brazil cannot have "retrograde legislation" and stated that he was against "penalizing intelligence". At the time, he also said he was in favor of "criminalizing the person who misuses the platform" and said that "copyrights will be respected, whether those of the press, the singer or the writer."
