In July, around 160 workers worked on the site. According to the concessionaire's Construction Superintendent, Rafael Melo, the duplication is strategic due to the intense vehicle traffic, especially trucks. In addition to the new lanes and shoulders, the project includes the construction of seven U-turns and the remodeling of four existing ones. The completion period is 42 months. Today, the stretch between Araraquara and Bocaina receives around 8 thousand vehicles per day. The concessionaire estimates that the work will directly benefit around 280,000 residents of the cities served and could indirectly impact up to 1 million people along the SP-255 corridor.
