The inauguration of the new PanAmazônia board took place in Manaus, this Wednesday (29). Francisco Bento. This week, the PanAmazônia Association swore in the new board of directors for the 2026-2028 biennium. The ceremony brought together counselors, representatives of the productive sector and authorities from several states in the Legal Amazon. Some of the members followed the inauguration virtually. The new administration stated that its priorities will be to strengthen integration between states in the region, expand dialogue between institutions and encourage the economic and social development of the Amazon. "For us it is a great honor. We will be able to take PanAmazônia to the entire Amazon, which is our work today. We, as the Amazon Network, cover Roraima, Amazonas, Acre and Rondônia, so we want to form a partnership to be able to progress", he stated. During the ceremony, the new board reinforced that it will work to strengthen integration between Amazonian states, stimulate regional development and expand dialogue between institutions operating in the Amazon. According to the executive director of the PanAmazônia Association, Belisário Arce, the presidency of the council rotates between the states and countries that make up the entity. "The PanAmazônia Association, as it has members throughout the Amazon region, in all states of the Amazon, the presidency of the council is rotating. Every two years it changes location. It has been in Amazonas, it has been in Ecuador, a neighboring country, it has been in Pará, Rondônia and now it goes to Roraima", he explained. In addition to the inauguration of the new council, the event featured a tribute to the 250th anniversary of the Independence of the United States. Personalities received an honor in recognition of their contribution to strengthening institutional relations. Among those honored was businessman Jaime Benchimol, who highlighted the importance of economic freedom. "The country that inspires me and exemplifies to this day how much individual initiative, the stimulus that each person has in an environment of economic freedom, freedom of price and the right to property can work", he said.
