The inauguration of the headquarters is part of the calendar of celebrations for the city's anniversary Bruno Campos Macaé City Hall inaugurated, this Monday (27), the new headquarters of the Municipal Secretariat for Policies for the Promotion of Racial Equality (Seppir). The delivery is part of the commemorative program for the city's 213th anniversary and expands the service structure aimed at promoting racial equality. Located at Rua Augusto de Carvalho, nº 137, in Imbetiba, the new headquarters was structured to offer better conditions of reception, guidance and service to the population, strengthening public policies to combat racism and guarantee rights. The space also reinforces the work of the secretariat, responsible for developing awareness actions in schools, public bodies and companies, in addition to promoting initiatives to value Afro-Brazilian culture and combat racial discrimination. Macaé also provides Hotline Racism, which operates 24 hours a day. Bruno Campos Macaé is part of the National System for the Promotion of Racial Equality (Sinapir), expanding coordination with public policies developed at the national level. The municipality also provides Hotline Racism, a service that operates 24 hours a day to receive reports of racial discrimination, offer support and forward cases to the competent bodies. According to data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), around 53% of the population of Macaé declares themselves black, a scenario that reinforces the importance of expanding public policies aimed at promoting racial equality, inclusion and guaranteeing rights. The inauguration of the new headquarters is part of a set of investments made by Macaé City Hall during the celebrations for the city's 213th anniversary, with a focus on expanding public services and strengthening inclusion and citizenship policies.
