The group is accused of rigging tenders and embezzling more than R$8.3 million from public coffers. The suspects are charged with criminal association, money laundering, corruption and embezzlement. According to the complaint, the group simulated competition and charged above market prices to supply plastic pipes used in construction work. The scheme took place through contracts from the Intermunicipal Public Consortium of the Central East Region of Rondônia (Cimcero). Investigations indicate that three companies that participated in the same tenders belonged to the same group and were managed by the same people. The police identified family and professional ties between those involved, in addition to the shared use of computers and digital certificates.
