The target is a gang suspected of carrying out the "insurance scam". The group enticed vulnerable people to register false thefts on the internet. All cases involved a luxury condominium in Guarujá, on the coast of São Paulo, a volume considered incompatible with the security of the location. In addition to São Paulo (capital, Taboão da Serra, Diadema, Itapecerica da Serra, Paulínia, Praia Grande and São Roque), court orders were complied with in Pará, Ceará, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and Paraná. The identity of the suspects was not released. The results of the operation will be presented after analyzing the seized material. Search and seizure warrants were issued in six states. Disclosure/Civil Police The scam According to the Civil Police, the criminal organization attracted people in situations of financial vulnerability or with credit restrictions. They were instructed to register false theft reports through the Electronic Police Station. The documents were used by those investigated to give the appearance of legitimacy to compensation claims presented to banks and insurance companies. After the amounts were released, the money was deposited into the accounts of those involved and divided between intermediaries and leaders of the scheme. Investigation The Court authorized the breaking of banking secrecy of those being investigated and the blocking of financial assets. According to the Civil Police, the operation seeks to identify all members of the criminal organization and deepen investigations into the flow of money.
