Family members said that the suspect arrived at the residence and, as he was a known person, entered through the front door, which was opened by his ex-father-in-law. As of 9:30 am, he had not been found. Dayane's uncle, Irimar Gonçalves said that their relationship was troubled and that his niece, who owned a grocery store close to home, had even fired employees because of her ex-boyfriend. "She wanted to leave him, I don't know how many times, but he threatened to kill her. She was forced to take an employee away from her because of him," he reported.
