There are many doubts about the best way to charge electronic devices, especially cell phones. Among the most common questions are whether it is safe to leave the device plugged in overnight and whether the battery can become “addicted”.

With the evolution of technology, some old beliefs no longer make sense. Current batteries have more advanced protection systems, but this does not mean that all charging habits are harmless.

Some practices can accelerate battery wear and reduce its capacity over time. Therefore, adopting simple care helps preserve the device's autonomy for longer.

The BGR website brought together four behaviors that should be avoided while charging your cell phone.

1. Always charge up to 100%

Keeping your cell phone constantly at full charge can increase battery wear. Whenever possible, it is worth activating the available charging limit in the device settings.

2. Leave optimized loading disabled

The optimized charging feature learns the user's routine and reduces the time the battery remains fully charged. The function can help extend the life of the component.

3. Play while your phone is charging

Heavy games demand a lot from the processor and increase the device's temperature. When this happens during charging, the excess heat can harm the battery.

4. Using uncertified chargers

Low quality or incompatible accessories can cause heating, charging failures and damage to the device. The ideal is to use original chargers or those certified by the manufacturer.
