The main guidelines are: get out of the water immediately; suspend tours and activities on boats until weather conditions are stable; seek shelter in safe buildings or inside vehicles; avoid staying under isolated trees, poles or improvised structures; follow the instructions of lifeguards and Fire Department teams; Keep children under adult supervision at all times. The Fire Department also highlighted that electrical discharges can reach areas close to rivers and lakes even before the rain arrives.
