SÃO PAULO, SP (UOL/FOLHAPRESS) - A Brazilian woman, from Conselheiro Lafaiete (MG), was killed with a machete on Monday in the city of Marche-en-Famenne, Belgium.

Silvilene Rocha, 37, was allegedly chased by a 20-year-old young man on the street where she was living. The case took place on Avenida de la Toison d'Or, between midnight and 1 am (local time), according to information from Belgian TV Lux.

Traces of blood were found along several meters of the public road. A witness told the broadcaster that he tried to help the victim, who reportedly suffered deep head injuries. “Scene of extreme violence”, he described.

Silvilene's partner, 26 years old and also Brazilian, was seriously injured. She would have managed to flee the scene of the attack and was hospitalized, but without risk of death.

Motivation for the crime is still being investigated. Authorities reported to local media that the house where the two lived was rented and was suspected of being used for prostitution.

The suspect, born in Marche-en-Famenne and with no criminal record, was arrested preventively on the same day. Still according to the Belgian press, three of four people who had been detained were released after the investigation.

A friend of the girl from Minas Gerais, who preferred not to be identified, told UOL that she had already visited several countries before Belgium. "Your departure leaves a great loss and many memories of the moments I shared. You will be remembered with affection and will never be forgotten," the woman wrote on social media.
