Court orders the Government of Amazonas to reestablish supply of Military Police vehicles in Maraã

In the action, prosecutor Marcos Túlio Pereira Correia Júnior argued that the interruption of supply put an essential public service at risk and could worsen crime in the municipality. "The return of vehicles to the streets is directly related to the safety of the population. Maraã is a municipality that faces cases of domestic violence and drug trafficking. Therefore, to prevent the worsening of crime, the MP filed a public civil action with a request for urgent protection, which has already been granted by the Judiciary", stated the prosecutor. The Court also highlighted in the injunction that public security is a constitutional duty of the State and that any administrative or fiscal problems involving suppliers cannot compromise the continuity of the service. The decision determines that the State adopts the necessary measures to guarantee the supply of vehicles, whether through payment and regularization of the current contract, the hiring of another supplier or another administrative measure that ensures the supply of fuel.
