Chinese businessman arrested for running over and killing street cleaner is transferred to jail in Greater SP

Huang was driving after drinking alcohol, according to a breathalyzer test administered by the Military Police, and was arrested in the act for intentional homicide with possible intent - that is, he had assumed the risk of killing. The arrest in the act was converted into a preventive one, without a defined period, by the Court.

He was on the left side of the vehicle when he was hit by a black 2010 Land Rover Discovery, driven by Huang. With the impact, he was thrown towards the front of the truck; the cap he was wearing fell near the place where he was before the collision.

According to the police report, Huang did not stop and fled the scene. A motorcycle courier who saw the collision followed him, and the businessman returned to the address some time later. He was subjected to a breathalyzer test, which measured 0.73 mg/l of alcohol per liter of alveolar air - above the limit of 0.34 mg/l, considered a crime.

Guofang's defense, made up of lawyers Lucas Quintela and Jéssica Narjara Camillis, stated that they received the news of his arrest with serenity and will closely monitor the investigation, contributing to the complete clarification of the facts.

"At this point, it is essential to highlight that the circumstances of what happened are still being investigated by the competent authorities, which is why any early conclusion about possible criminal liability appears to be hasty," stated the defense.

The defense highlighted that the Federal Constitution guarantees everyone the right to due legal process, to adversarial proceedings, to full defense and to the presumption of innocence, guarantees that must be respected throughout the criminal prosecution.

"Out of respect for the investigation, the victim's family and the progress of the process itself, the defense will not comment on the merits of the facts at this time, reserving itself to express itself exclusively to the competent authorities and, in due course, when there is full access to the elements of the investigation", he concluded.

Some neighborhoods in São Paulo have been without garbage collection since Monday night (27), in protest over the death of the street sweeper. Initially, the strike affects parts of the north and west regions of the capital.

In a statement, Loga - the concessionaire responsible for the collection and management of solid household and health waste in the northwest region of São Paulo - informed that, "due to the commotion generated by the death of collaborator Diego Rafael da Silva, the collection teams stopped common collection activities and recyclable materials on the roads served by the collection frequency on Monday (27), at night".
