Bruno Betancur's career
His career in football began in 2022, when he joined the Fenix academy, before gaining prominence and arriving at Peñarol, one of the main teams in Uruguay. It was at this club that he debuted for the main team, on March 25, 2023, against Uruguayan Liverpool.
He made a total of 14 appearances for Peñarol, where he ended up failing to score any goals or assists. A period of loan to Chilean side Everton followed, which ended up lasting a short time, as after seven games played in Chile and one goal scored, he was called up and loaned to Rentistas, to get used to national football.
There, he managed to gain minutes and participated in 12 matches to reach an assist in all competitions. It was in 2025 that he left Peñarol for good, heading to CA Cerro, where he didn't have many opportunities and played just four games.
This year he started to represent Deportivo Italiano, in the Uruguayan third division, where he played a total of 104 minutes and scored four goals, but his career was abruptly interrupted, with a cardiorespiratory arrest that ended up being fatal.
