BRASÍLIA, DF (FOLHAPRESS) - Minister André Mendonça, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court), authorized the opening of an investigation by the Federal Police to investigate the "Dark Horse" case, the name of the film about the life of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

The PF will investigate the fate of the transfer of resources by Daniel Vorcaro, former owner of Banco Master. Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), pre-candidate for the presidency of the Republic, asked the former banker for money under the justification of financing the work.

Mendonça had asked the Attorney General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet, for an opinion, following a request from the Federal Police. The head of the MPF (Federal Public Ministry) said that there are enough elements to request the formal opening of an investigation to investigate the transfers.

In addition to the PF, deputy Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ) had made the request for an investigation to the STF, but the PGR decided to shelve the parliamentarian's request. He had sued the Supreme Court after the website The Intercept Brasil released an audio in which Flávio asked Vorcaro for money for the feature film.

At the end of June, the president of the court, Edson Fachin, decided that Mendonça should remain as rapporteur of the case.

When requesting the investigation last month, the general director of the PF, Andrei Rodrigues, said in an interview that he believed it was necessary to launch an investigation into the sending of resources by former banker Daniel Vorcaro to the USA under the justification of financing the film "Dark Horse".

One of the suspicions is that these resources covered expenses of former deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) in the United States, where he has lived since February 2025. The PF also wants to know whether they were used for other actions by allies of former president Jair Bolsonaro within the Donald Trump government.

"There is a need to launch an investigation to investigate all these circumstances that permeate these episodes", said the director general, in an interview with GloboNews, in June.

The resources would have been transferred by Entre Investimentos e Participações, which has links with Vorcaro, to a fund controlled by Eduardo's allies and based in Texas, USA.

When the financing of the film Dark Horse with resources from Vorcaro was revealed by the website Intercept Brasil, Flávio Bolsonaro said in a statement that "the insinuation that resources were allocated to Eduardo Bolsonaro" was false.

"The contributions were directed to a specific production fund, with its own legal structure and supervision in the United States."

The PF intends to understand whether the resources - which would have been sent at the request of the Master's owner - were, in fact, used to finance the film or whether part of it served to pay for Eduardo's life in the country, where he moved alleging persecution by Alexandre de Moraes. The former parliamentarian denies the accusations and has already complained about blocked bank accounts, including those of his wife.

Eduardo went to the USA last year. He is a defendant in the STF in an action accused of the crime of coercion, which is reported by Alexandre de Moraes.
