São José-RS x Gama-DF, Goiatuba-GO x ASA-AL, Nacional-AM x ABC-RN and Uberlândia-MG x CSA-AL will be the quarterfinal games. They will be played on a round-trip basis, and draws on the aggregate score lead to penalties.
The winners of each duel guarantee direct access to Series C. The difference in relation to other years is that the losers are not yet, in fact, eliminated.
The losers will face each other in playoffs that will define two more classified in the third division - the CBF made changes to the dispute system and increased the number of participants in Series C (from 20 to 24) in 2027, so there will be more access this season.
The quarterfinals of Series D have teams from all regions of the country. The Northeast is the majority, with three representatives: ABC, CSA and ASA. The Central-West has two (Goiatuba and Gama), while the Southeast (Uberlândia), North (Nacional) and South (São José) have one each.
Traditional teams were eliminated in the round of 16. Portuguesa was dispatched by Uberlândia, América-RN fell to Gama and Treze-PB said goodbye after losing to São José.
The quarterfinals participants have some well-known coaches. Among them are Argel Fuchs (former defender of Santos and Palmeiras) and Danilo Andrade (former midfielder of São Paulo and Corinthians), who train São José and Uberlândia, respectively.
