This Tuesday (28), the FGTS Board of Trustees authorized the payment of R$13.04 billion related to the profit from the Severance Indemnity Fund (FGTS) in 2025 to 138.2 million workers with a balance in a linked account.

The Council is made up of representatives from the government, workers and employers. The amounts will be credited to workers' linked accounts until August 31, 2026.

All workers who had a balance until December 31, 2025 will receive an amount. The calculation varies depending on the amount existing in the account until the last day of last year, that is, there is no fixed amount for all beneficiaries.

To estimate how much can be credited, the balance recorded at the end of 2025 must be multiplied by the index of 0.01868341, defined in the proposal presented to the Board of Trustees. Queries will be released on the Caixa website or via the FGTS app on your cell phone.

The amounts received can be withdrawn in the situations provided for in Law No. 8,036/1990, such as when purchasing a home, in cases of calamity, serious illness and termination without just cause, among others. The appeal received does not form part of the basis for calculating the termination fine if the worker is dismissed without just cause.
