Defendant was charged by the Public Ministry of Minas Gerais (MPMG). In addition to the rape of a vulnerable person, the Sabinópolis Public Prosecutor's Office charged him with acts of lasciviousness (uncontrolled sexual desire) and for threatening his partner.
Crimes occurred between 2024 and March this year, inside the family home, in a rural area. According to the MPMG, the acts were carried out in the context of domestic and family violence against women and vulnerable people.
Man threatened his daughters and wife not to report him. The partner, however, sought out the Guardianship Council. According to the Prosecutor's Office, the defendant exercised moral coercion to get away with it.
The accused was arrested red-handed. Abuses stopped with the intervention of the Guardianship Council and the Civil Police.
The court considered the evidence sufficient for conviction. For the Judiciary, the elements presented rule out any allegation of doubt or lack of evidence.
CONDEMNATION
Defendant will not be able to appeal freely. The sentence amounts to 121 years and four months of closed prison, in addition to one month and 22 days of detention and a 22-day fine. The court also ordered the payment of compensation for moral damages to the victims.
Prosecutor Álvaro Calazans de Souza Neto highlighted the effectiveness of the Justice system. "This conviction represents a lot for society, as it shows the effectiveness of the justice system. It is the materialization of the law and reinforces that the seriousness of this type of conduct requires an effective, incisive and proportional social response to the crimes committed."
The report did not locate the condemned man’s defense. As the MPMG note does not disclose the name of the defendant, it was not possible to locate his defense.
