Dentist arrested on suspicion of stabbing journalist friend to death in GO

Renata de Almeida Pedreira e Sousa, 56, allegedly killed Delson Carlos Henrique de Lima Barros after an argument. The information comes from the Goiás Military Police, which responded to the incident.

Delson was a friend of Renata. On the day of the crime, the two were drinking in the apartment where the journalist lived, in the company of another woman, when there was an argument.

During the disagreement, Renata allegedly stabbed Delson. The journalist died at the scene. The police have not yet clarified what caused the argument that resulted in the victim's death.

After killing Delson, Renata locked herself in a room inside the apartment. It was necessary to call a team from Bope (Special Operations Battalion) to intervene.

Bope had to use an explosive device to enter the residence. The dentist was subsequently arrested and charged with murder.

The Goiás court maintained Renata's arrest during the custody hearing. The dentist was represented by the Goiás Public Defender’s Office. UOL contacted the organization to ask for a defense position, and is awaiting a response.

Delson worked on news portals in Goiás and leaves her husband. His partner was not home at the time of the crime.
