SÃO PAULO, SP (UOL/FOLHAPRESS) - A 29-year-old woman disappeared after being swept away by the waters of a waterfall during a trail in the city of Sapopema (PR), 300 km from Curitiba.

Ana Paula Silveira Cardoso was on the Salto das Orquídeas trail with a friend when she lost her balance crossing a waterfall. The case happened on Saturday afternoon (25), according to the woman's friends.

Her friend tried to help her, but also fell into the water. She was found alive yesterday morning after spending the night trapped in a ravine, according to the Paraná Military Fire Department.

The search for Ana Paula began this Sunday morning (26), after her friend's rescue, and was suspended at night. They resumed around 8:30 am today, according to Ana Paula's friends.

The Paraná Military Fire Department informed the reporter that it is carrying out searches with three firefighters on the banks of the waterfall and the Tibagi River. Drones and divers assist teams in searching for the woman.
