They are responsible not only for the exploitation of human beings, but also for the rampant exploitation of natural resources, to the point that environmental devastation reaches such a serious level that perhaps, in the future, there will no longer be a habitable planet."

Asked about what it means to "be Atlântica", a concept from another Brazilian thinker, Beatriz Nascimento, she said that her first major form of awareness was internationalism and illustrated the concept with one of her first trips to France.
