In the stimulated first round scenarios in which his name was presented, Cleitinho recorded between 34% and 35% of voting intentions. Alexandre Kalil (PDT) appears with 12%, followed by Patrus Ananias (PT), with 10%. Governor Mateus Simões (PSD) fluctuates between 6% and 7%.
The senator's advantage also remains in projections for a possible second stage of the election. Against Alexandre Kalil, Cleitinho would win by 44% to 29%. In a confrontation with Patrus Ananias, the result would be 46% to 31%.
The biggest difference appears in the dispute between Cleitinho and Mateus Simões. In this scenario, the senator reaches 46% of voting intentions, while the governor registers 15%.
In simulations without Cleitinho's participation, the race is more balanced. Mateus Simões appears with 30% compared to Alexandre Kalil, who has 29%, configuring a technical tie. Simões also records 30% in a confrontation with Patrus Ananias, who reaches the same percentage.
Dispute for the Senate
The survey also evaluated the race for the two seats in Minas Gerais in the Senate. Marília Campos (PT) leads voting intentions, while federal deputy Aécio Neves (PSDB) presents the second best performance in the scenarios in which his name was included.
The Genial/Quaest survey interviewed 1,482 voters from Minas Gerais in person between the 22nd and 26th of July. The margin of error is three percentage points, plus or minus, and the confidence level is 95%. The survey is registered with the Superior Electoral Court under number MG-03490/2026
