ANP creates app for drivers to check gas station quality
Starting this Monday (13), drivers can use an application to check the quality assessment of gas stations throughout Brazil. It is also possible to report irregularities. The “ANP com VC - Postos” platform was launched...
The “ANP com VC - Postos” platform was launched by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), a public body that regulates and supervises the fuel market in the country, from production to final commercialization.
Using the app, consumers can search for information about stations close to them or browse a virtual map.
Rating from 0 to 5
All positions receive grades from zero to five, which take into account the history of ANP inspections received by the establishment in the last five years.
The agency's inspections evaluate issues such as fuel quality, whether the quantity supplied by the pumps is accurate and whether there is a record of abusive pricing. The more recent a possible punishment, the greater the negative weight in the final grade.
To facilitate visualization in map mode, stations receive colors related to grades, ranging from red (grade zero) to green (grade five to 5).
Through the app itself, the driver can report directly to the ANP if they notice signs of irregularities in quality or abusive pricing.
The application provides information about the establishments, such as address, CNPJ, how many inspections it has received, the results of the inspections and the quality of the samples analyzed. It is also possible to find out which company supplies the fuel sold by the station.
According to the ANP, the information brings greater transparency, “since even stations that display a distributor's trademark can sell product from another supplier, such as an ethanol plant, a transporter-reseller-retailer (TRR) or even another distributor, as long as it is clearly informed to the consumer”.
