SÃO PAULO, SP (FOLHAPRESS) - Xuxa Meneghel decided to turn criticism of her new show's costumes into publicity to continue talking about the tour.

After being the target of comments on social media for wearing a look that left part of her crotch exposed, the presenter responded to the repercussions with good humor and took the opportunity to provoke those who did not approve of the production.

"I'm still reading, listening and seeing so much affection from you to me. NOTHING is better or greater than true love", wrote Xuxa on Monday (27), two days after the premiere of "O Último Voo da Nave", held at Nubank Parque, in São Paulo.

Afterwards, she mocked those who criticized her choice of clothing and suggested that the negative repercussion could help take the show to more places.

"And whoever didn't like it, please continue sharing your 'criticisms', because who knows, maybe I'll travel to more places and show the last flight of the crotch (oops)... From the ship", he added.

Xuxa's joke makes direct reference to the main point of discussion provoked by the show since its debut. At 63 years old, the presenter appeared on stage in very low-cut silver and gold costumes, which attracted attention not only for the show's aesthetics, but also for the exposure of the groin area.

The look divided opinions on social media. While some fans celebrated the presenter's willingness to invest in bold productions and maintain the personality that marked her career, others questioned the choice of costume and classified the presentation negatively.

One of the criticisms that gained the greatest repercussion was published by influencer Mônica Salgado. She stated that she saw in the show an "excessive eroticization, enveloped as empowerment". The post received engagement and sparked a discussion among followers.

Journalist Matheus Baldi was one of those who spoke up in defense of the presenter. He compared the reaction to Xuxa's costume with the way similar productions are received when used by younger artists.

The discussion raised by Baldi points to different treatment given to women depending on their age. Costumes considered sensual or daring are often associated with artistic freedom when used by younger artists, but can provoke harsher judgments when those on stage are over 50 or 60 years old.

The debut in São Paulo marked the beginning of the new phase of the tour, which should visit other cities. Xuxa has used social media to share behind-the-scenes footage and thank the public for their reception.

Isabelle Drummond characterizes herself as Emília more than 20 years after 'Sítio do Picapau Amarelo'

Isabelle Drummond returned to her role as Emília, a character she played in “Sítio do Picapau Amarelo” between 2001 and 2006. The video awakened nostalgia and surprised fans due to the actress's resemblance to the doll from more than two decades ago.
