Trump calls US Supreme Court's analysis of birthright citizenship a 'miscarriage of justice' and says he will request new review

The US Supreme Court rarely accepts requests for reanalysis of cases and does not grant this type of request after having already issued a decision in a case that was judged several decades ago.

The Republican president classified the decision, written by the president of the Court, the conservative John Roberts, as a "miscarriage of justice". "AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP IS NOT FOR SALE! In fact, this is a crime and therefore the Supreme Court's decision is wrong," Trump wrote on his social media site, Truth Social. "I will IMMEDIATELY ask the United States Supreme Court to reconsider the case." Trump, who has repeatedly tested the limits of presidential power in domestic and foreign policy, last year signed an executive order to end birthright citizenship on the first day of his return to the White House. The measure was part of a set of policies aimed at tightening actions against legal and illegal immigration.
