The information was confirmed to the Italian news agency Ansa by the professional's mother. The cause and exact date of death were not disclosed.

BRASÍLIA, DF (FOLHAPRESS) - Journalist Daniele Compatangelo, 50, who published a speech by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, about the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, died after feeling unwell....
With more than 25 years of career, Compatangelo was responsible for the Trump interview, published about a month ago, in which the American stated that Meloni had begged for a photo with him at the G7 summit, in Évian-les-Bains, France.
"She [Meloni] is probably happy because I talked to her. I didn't need to talk to her," Trump said. Then, according to the transcript of the interview, the American president added that the prime minister begged for a photograph and that he only agreed because he felt sorry for her.
Meloni reacted to the statements and criticized the American president. Previously allies, and whose relationship was considered one of the main channels of dialogue between the USA and Europe, the two began to lead an open dispute, intensified by differences over trade tariffs, the war in Iran and criticism made by Washington of Pope Leo 14.
Compatangelo was president of the White House Foreign Correspondents Association. According to his profile on the association's page, the journalist was one of the founding members of the entity and "interviewed senior American and global political authorities, produced acclaimed investigative reports and covered eight Olympic Games."
The page also says that Compatangelo was a specialist in matters related to Europe and the Middle East and that he worked as a White House correspondent for the Italian TV La7, in addition to having contributed to other vehicles.
According to Ansa, the journalist was born in Savona and raised in Turin. He lived in Rome before moving to the US.
"We are astonished. The whole of La7 joins the family," said the director of the network for which Compatangelo worked, Andrea Salerno. "Daniele was a precious and rare collaborator for his desire to always rely on rigor and joy. He was a good journalist. He will be missed."
