Tarcísio praises Bolsonaro at a convention of União Brasil and PP de SP alongside Flávio

The event - the convention of the São Paulo directory of the federation formed by União Brasil and PP - confirmed the nomination of federal deputy Guilherme Derrite (PP-SP) for election to the Senate, on a ticket with Tarcísio and state deputy André do Prado (PL).

Derrite, Tarcísio's former Public Security Secretary, is counting on Bolsonar's vote to improve his performance – in the Datafolha survey carried out two weeks ago, he appeared in fifth place in voting intentions for the Senate.

Tarcísio gave a 12-minute speech at the event and reinforced his support for Flávio. However, when addressing the pre-candidate, the governor chose to speak only about his father, Jair.

"I would like to thank you very much for the honor of having our next President of the Republic, Flávio Bolsonaro, here," said Tarcísio.

"I had the honor of working in President Jair Bolsonaro's government. Very humble guy, also the guy who made a difference. The guy who broke paradigms, the guy who created a movement", he continued, highlighting that this movement "does not remain silent".

Tarcísio continued talking about Flávio's father. "The guy who delivered Brazil with the state-owned companies functioning, making a profit. The guy who delivered Brazil with a surplus. The guy who delivered works that were stopped. The guy who brought water to the Northeast. The guy who created Pix, the guy who cared about people."

"This project today is under your leadership, your responsibility, and you will count on this army here with you", said Tarcísio, addressing Flávio.

The pre-candidate, in his speech, reinforced criticism of the Lula government that he has expressed in interviews, criticizing famine and violence, and said that, if elected, he will work to have criminal factions classified as terrorists - a measure adopted by Donald Trump's government.

Despite Flávio's presence at the event, leaders of the Progressive Union Federation are working to keep the group independent at the federal level in these elections. Derrite, when questioned by journalists before the event, said that, in São Paulo, the group will be with the senator.

"With all due respect to the national [executive], here in São Paulo there is no neutrality at all. In São Paulo, the União Progressista Federation is Flávio Bolsonaro," said the deputy.

The neutrality of União and PP began to be defended amid the series of negative news for Flávio in recent weeks – such as his connection with Daniel Vorcaro, from Banco Master; criticism from his stepmother, Michelle Bolsonaro; and the tariff imposed on Brazil by Donald Trump, whom Flávio supports.
