The Federal Revenue will begin paying the special batch of automatic income tax refunds for individuals (IRPF), starting this Wednesday (15). According to the Ministry of Finance, the estimate is that approximately 3.5 million taxpayers will receive around R$460 million in refunds.

Inquiries about this refund (also known as cashback) can be made through the Federal Revenue portal via the My Income Tax link or through the Federal Revenue app.

The money will be credited directly to the account linked to the taxpayer's CPF type Pix key.

“Taxpayers who did not submit their IRPF declaration in 2025 because they were not obliged, but who calculated amounts that qualified them for refund during the year 2024, are entitled to a refund,” informed the Treasury.

Based on information already made available to the IRS, it was possible, even without any prior action by the taxpayer, to generate simplified income statements that identified the amounts to be refunded.

The eligible taxpayers will also be able to access the automatically generated declaration to check data, include information and make adjustments, if necessary.

To receive the amount, the taxpayer must meet the following requirements:

Not being required to declare the 2025 IRPF;

Not having sent a declaration on your own;

Have had tax withheld at source in 2024;

Be entitled to a refund of up to R$1,000;

Have a regular CPF and have a Pix key linked to the CPF.

The special batch has its own schedule and is not part of the regular IRPF 2026 refund calendar. The next regular batch is scheduled for July 31st.

The IRS advises taxpayers to only use official channels for consultations and monitoring of the process.

Difference from regular batches

The Federal Revenue clarifies that this special batch of automatic refunds “is not part of the regular calendar of IRPF 2026 refunds, which follow their scheduled calendar”.

This is a batch with its own schedule, intended for taxpayers who did not submit a declaration.

"Regular batches continue to be paid normally to taxpayers who submitted the declaration within the legal deadline. The next regular batch is scheduled for July 31st", informed the Revenue.
