According to ABC News, the victims included four children, aged 14, 12, 7 and 6. All are in stable condition.
The other injured are two women, aged 25 and 21, and two men, aged 37 and 33. Three of them suffered minor injuries, while the 21-year-old woman was taken to hospital in serious condition.
"All victims were rescued by emergency services and taken to hospitals in the region. Seven people remain hospitalized in stable condition. The 21-year-old woman is in serious condition," said the New York Police Department (NYPD), in a statement cited by the American broadcaster.
So far, no one has been arrested. Police only reported that a firearm was found at the scene of the crime.
The call for the incident was recorded at 10:37 pm local time.
