SÃO PAULO, SP (UOL/FOLHAPRESS) - Outside of coach Cuca's plans, Santos did not reach an amicable agreement to terminate the contract of right-back Mayke.

The Santos board tried to negotiate with the 33-year-old player, who has a contract until December 2027, but he did not accept the conditions offered to bring forward the end of the contract.

Santos tried to adopt the same business model with Mayke used with Venezuelan Tomás Rincón, who he terminated just over a month ago.

The full-back, however, did not consider the proposal advantageous, as he does not give up receiving the full amount stipulated in his contract.

Faced with the impasse, the club ended conversations and handed the case over to the legal department.

The tendency now is for the fight to end up in court. Meanwhile, Mayke continues training at alternative times at CT Rei Pelé.

TERMINATION OF ZÉ RAFAEL

In addition to the full-back, midfielder Zé Rafael also trains separately from the group at CT Rei Pelé. The midfielder, who has a contract until the end of 2027, has advanced conversations with the board and is close to agreeing an amicable termination.
