In an interview with the club's official channels, Mourinho highlighted his satisfaction with his return and stated that he sees his new spell at Real Madrid as a mission.
"Words are not enough, because this is a mission. It's not about being worried about me or whether I'm going to win a lot or a little. I'm here to help everyone be better: players, coaching staff and club", he declared.
The Portuguese also highlighted that he intends to implement a culture based on work, responsibility and ambition.
"I know very well the honor and responsibility of working for Real Madrid. I really like this concept. It's not working at Real Madrid, it's working for Real Madrid. It's with this spirit of mission that I'm here," he said.
Despite having only attended the training center in person this Friday, Mourinho explained that planning for the season had already been developed for some time.
"We have been working a lot. It's not because I arrived here today that everything starts now. We have been working with the club's structure for a long time, in different areas. Nowadays, technology allows a lot of things to be done remotely", he said.
According to the coach, arriving in Valdebebas served to check what had already been organized and align the next stages of preparation.
The players' medical examinations begin on Monday. The squad, however, will still be missing athletes who defended their teams in the 2026 World Cup.
Mourinho stated that he intends to take advantage of the next few weeks to observe Castilla's youngsters and bring them closer to the first team.
"I would like to have all the players here, but we need to see the situation in a positive way. I will get to know the young people I will work with and they will also have the opportunity to get to know me", he explained.
The coach added that he likes to follow the development of youth players and assured that he is confident for the start of the season.
"Later, some world champions will also arrive. I face this challenge with a lot of confidence and with the certainty that I love this club. Hala Madrid and nothing else", he concluded.
Technical committee defined
On the first day of Mourinho's second spell at Real Madrid, assistants Pedro Machado, António Dias and João Tralhão were also present.
Sami Khedira, a former midfielder for the German national team and led by the Portuguese coach in his first spell at the club, is also part of the coaching staff.
First friendly confirmed
Real Madrid announced that the first pre-season friendly will be played on August 8, against Fiorentina, from Italy. The match will be held at the Wörthersee Stadion, in Austria.
Reinforcements and exits
So far, Real Madrid have signed four reinforcements for the new season. Bernardo Silva arrived free of charge, while Ibrahima Konaté, Marc Cucurella and Denzel Dumfries were also added to the squad.
Regarding departures, Fran García was traded to Real Betis. Nico Paz, in turn, was sold permanently to Como, from Italy.
