The National Social Security Institute (INSS) is carrying out this Saturday (11) and Sunday (12) a federal medical expertise effort in 47 locations in 18 states plus the Federal District.

The goal is to serve more than 17,800 people in different parts of the country. The extra service vacancies will be filled by INSS policyholders who had already scheduled the examination, but had been waiting for a long time for the service.

During the medical examination, it will be assessed whether the benefit is due: temporary (former sickness benefit) or permanent (disability retirement).

Consult the schedule

All insured persons called to undergo the federal medical examination were informed via SMS message on the cell phone registered at the time the new benefit request was initiated online.

A person who is sick and unable to work can also check the scheduled date for the federal medical examination directly on the website or on the Meu INSS application, with access via login to the Gov.br portal account.

In Meu INSS, the interested party must click on "Disability Benefit" to check the date, place and time of the evaluation.

If the system is not available, there is also a free telephone number, Ligue 135.

Remote expertise

The Ministry of Social Security (MPS) clarifies that the majority of services this Saturday and Sunday will be provided through telemedicine, via the internet.

The remote modality is aimed at the population who live in places where there are no experts or where waiting times are long.

The connected expertise will be adopted in initial expertise for temporary incapacity benefits (formerly sickness benefit), in addition to medical assessments of applications for Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC) for people with disabilities (PCD) and in reviews of these assistance benefits (REVBPC).

National queue

Currently, the queue of requests for federal medical expertise to access INSS benefits is at 391 thousand requests.

Compared to November last year, when the queue reached 1.2 million applications, there was a 68% reduction in demand. In July, the average waiting time for policyholders between scheduling and carrying out the examination is 20 days, says the INSS.
