Confirmation of death was released by the broadcaster through an official note of condolence. The company regretted the loss and highlighted that the reporter leaves a legacy of commitment and dedication to journalism, being admired by professional colleagues.
The Federal University of Viçosa, where the journalist graduated in 2015, published a note and recalled Caíque's trajectory at the institution. "With deep sadness, we received the news and informed about the death of former student Caíque Verli de Sousa, aged 33, this Thursday. Born in Carangola (MG), he joined the course in 2011 and graduated in 2015. Remembering with affection Caíque's friendship and commitment, teachers, technicians and students of the Course express our condolences to his family and other friends", says the publication.
There is still no information about the journalist's wake and burial. The case was registered by the Civil Police as a finding of a body and the procedure was forwarded to the Specialized Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DEHPP).
