The boy, of British nationality, was playing with his father in a corridor on the 4th floor of the hotel in Paphos, when he fell from an open window.
The accident happened at 6pm on Sunday and the child was transported to Paphos General Hospital, where he died.
After the tragedy, the boy's father, aged 37, was arrested and is suspected of having caused the death due to "negligent, reckless and dangerous" attitudes.
The family had arrived at the location on Saturday and was supposed to remain on vacation there until July 25th, reveals the Daily Mail. In addition to the parents and the boy, the victim's five-year-old sister and maternal grandparents were also on vacation.
The child's body underwent an autopsy at the Nicosia General Hospital morgue.
