Even without taking the court since April, Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz returned this Monday to second place in the world tennis rankings. Portuguese Nuno Borges left the top 50.

Recovering from a wrist injury, Alcaraz took advantage of Alexander Zverev's loss of points last week to overtake the German. The leadership continues with the Italian Jannik Sinner.

Among the Portuguese, Nuno Borges remains the best placed, despite having fallen six positions and now appears in 55th place. Jaime Faria remained in the top 100, in 79th place, while Henrique Rocha dropped to 125th place.

In the women's ranking, the top 10 did not change. Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka remains in the lead, ahead of Kazakh Elena Rybakina and American Jessica Pegula.
