SÃO PAULO, SP (UOL/FOLHAPRESS) - Botafogo reached a verbal agreement with Nahuel Ferraresi and his staff and signed the defender permanently.

The report found that Botafogo now only resolves bureaucratic issues to formalize the agreement. The negotiation puts back on track the exchange model previously revealed by UOL, which had been interrupted precisely due to the lack of agreement between the Rio club and the defender's representatives.

With the impasse overcome, São Paulo also unlocks the operation involving Newton and must guarantee the midfielder's arrival without having to pay for the transfer.

At the time, São Paulo and Botafogo already had an understanding to facilitate Newton's arrival - but resistance from Ferraresi's staff prevented the deal from being concluded. The Venezuelan had not given the green light for the definitive transfer, forcing the clubs to redesign the financial engineering of the operation.

FINANCIAL ENGINEERING

Due to the format agreed between the directors, Newton ended up acquired by São Paulo for a value close to 3 million euros. In parallel, Botafogo gained time to reach an agreement with Ferraresi, after the staff made a last-minute decision, for the same amount. In other words, both purchases will be compensated.

In practice, the São Paulo team no longer receives payment for the sale of the defender, while the Rio club gives up payment for the negotiation of the midfielder. The result is that Newton arrives at Morumbis without generating disbursement in economic rights.

The solution reproduces the design originally prepared by the boards and revealed by UOL before the impasse with Ferraresi's staff interrupted the progress of the talks.

NEGOTIATION STARTED WITH ARTUR

The relationship between the clubs had already borne other fruits this window. Ferraresi's loan to Botafogo initially guaranteed 800 thousand euros to São Paulo and paved the way for Artur's arrival on loan.

As UOL revealed, the striker landed at Morumbis with São Paulo paying 60% of his wages. The other 40% was conditional on meeting match goals, in addition to a purchase option set at 6 million euros.
