Hours earlier, she had been picked up by her grandfather. She is the daughter of the couple Gilço and Dieli Amaral, who were at the property when the tornado arrived in Giruá. Luckily, the girl wasn't there. She asked to go for a walk at her grandfather's house, Neide Amaral, who lives about 10 kilometers from her daughter, in a place that was not affected. ? She took advantage of the open time she had during the day, before the storm arrived, to clean the house, while Gilço had just arrived from work when the tornado took hold. She ended up being hit by debris, but was not injured and is fine. "It was seconds. There was a first thump and, in a second, there was nothing left", says Dieli. It was the girl's grandfather and Dieli's father who went to the scene to help the people affected. He reports a desperate situation after the traumatic passage of the tornado. "It's a trauma. It was the entire property. It was desperate. The neighbors came to help. They started to dig out from under the rubble. The last one (to leave) was at 8pm, and it was around 6pm when the tornado came. They were under the rubble. Lucky that (Gilço) still had his phone and was able to call for help", reports Neide Amaral.
