Understand why RS should have more storms in the coming days The rain continues in Rio Grande do Sul this Tuesday (28), with significant accumulations, intense winds and the possibility of hail predicted, according to Climatempo Meteorologia. The instability, associated with the persistence of a cold front over the state, keeps the southern half of Rio Grande do Sul in a dangerous situation, where the risk of flooding, flash floods and overflows remains high. According to Climatempo, rain is expected to occur throughout the day in practically all regions of the state, varying between moments of moderate and heavy intensity and accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms. The areas of greatest concern are Campaign, Center, South, Costa Doce, Metropolitan Region, Valleys and Middle Coast. In these locations, precipitation volumes can vary between 100 and 150 millimeters in a short period. There is also a forecast of wind gusts above 90 km/h and hail, in addition to the possibility of more intense meteorological phenomena in isolated points. Red alert Inmet published a warning of great danger for accumulated rain Disclosure/Inmet The scenario also led the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) to issue a red alert for accumulated rain. The warning, valid until 11:59 pm on Tuesday, indicates rainfall exceeding 60 millimeters per hour or above 100 millimeters per day, with a great risk of flooding, river overflows and landslides. In addition to the warning for heavy rain, Inmet published warnings of danger and potential danger for storms across the state. Instability is still expected to persist on Wednesday (29), especially during the early hours and morning in the northern half of the state. There is a forecast of heavy rain, winds above 90 km/h and hail in areas of the Northwest, North, Northeast, Serra, Vales and North Coast. Throughout the day, the trend is for a gradual reduction in rainfall in the south and west regions, while precipitation remains more persistent in the north of Rio Grande do Sul. The expected accumulations vary between 10 and 60 millimeters. On Thursday (30), the scenario begins to change. With the gradual withdrawal of the cold front, rainfall is expected to decrease in most of the state. There may still be weak and isolated precipitation between the North and Northeast regions, but without the intensity observed in previous days. The forecast also indicates a significant reduction in the risk of storms. Temperatures should remain mild, under the influence of greater cloud cover and the entry of a colder air mass.
