During surgery, doctors found the scissors and found that part of the small intestine had necrotized. Erica reported having undergone a total of four surgeries: the original hysterectomy, the removal of scissors, one to correct a hernia and drain an intestinal abscess, and a final intervention to treat a liver abscess. "Now that it's sinking in, right? From all the risk to my life that I've had... I'm recovering, I'm still trying to psychologically understand everything I'm going through. Let's hope now that I recover, because otherwise I'll have to go back to the surgery center again", said Érica to g1. According to her, as she lost her health insurance, the hospital started paying for care related to the case. Any pain I feel, I go there and they take care of me. My children are also receiving psychological care," he said. In addition to the alleged surgical error, Érica states that, before and after the surgery, the doctor insisted that she undergo cosmetic surgery to remove excess skin and abdominal fat for a private payment of R$8,500. According to Érica, during a new hospitalization in July, she met the doctor again at the hospital. The patient states that she was upset when she saw him attending normally.
